Note that if you are buying, selling or renting a house, WA Building Regulations require residential properties that are subject to sale, rent or hire to have mains powered smoke alarms installed.

BUDGET SMOKE ALARMS

We at Hiscocks Electrical like to give customers choice so if all you require is the basics then this is the option for you, they are mains power with 9 volt battery backup, and as always with Hiscocks Electrical the products are of excellent quality (Clipsal, Brooks or PSA are the brands we use).

PREMIUM SMOKE ALARMS

If you are looking for a smoke alarm that once installed is very low maintenance then these are the option for you, they are mains powered but come with a 10 year rechargeable lithium battery so you need never have to replace the battery.

ARE YOU SELLING, RENTING OR JUST MOVED IN TO YOUR NEW HOME AND WANT TO BE SURE IT IS SAFE AND COMPLYING WITH REGULATIONS?

Order a comprehensive test and inspection for $125 (inc GST & Safety Certificate). We will test and inspect the property and give you advice and an obligation free quote if any further action recommended.

(This is useful if selling a property and everything is up to date as we provide a safety certificate which is required for the sale).

HOW OFTEN SHOULD SMOKE ALARMS BE REPLACED?

All smoke alarms need to be replaced every 10 years according to Regulation 60(2)(b) even if they are hard wired (mains powered) and still in working order.
